My name is Rebecca. I am a developmental editor/dramaturg based in NYC who loves supporting writers and artists as they bring their creativity to life.

With my backgrounds in applied linguistics (M.A.), English (B.A.), and history (B.A.), I approach language and stories with a careful and analytical eye.

I don’t want a co-writing credit: I want to help YOU refine your vision, strengthen your storytelling, and communicate your message as clearly as possible.

What I Offer

I provide developmental editing/dramaturgical services to assess big-picture elements of your manuscript, such as: plot, structure, characters, theme, pacing, worldbuilding, and more.

I primarily offer three types of deliverables:

  1. Manuscript Assessment. This is a 2-3 page editorial letter that provides general feedback on your manuscript, as well as my major recommendations.

  2. Developmental Edit. This is a 6-10 page editorial letter that provides detailed feedback on your manuscript, plus specific recommendations and suggestions.

  3. Developmental Edit w/ Manuscript Notes. Along with the 6-10 page editorial letter, you will receive comments and suggestions directly on your manuscript.

Depending on your needs, I can offer a flexible or amended version of these services. Let’s talk it through! (Generally, I do not offer copyediting or proofreading services at this time.)

I especially love working with scripts and screenplays (musicals, plays, films, short films), fiction (novels, short stories), and non-fiction (memoir, personal essays, narrative non-fiction, etc.).
